Healthy Cash-flow - Healthy Mind 02

Updated: Feb 15, 2023

Tips and tricks for maintaining balance whilst working from home.

Issue No.2

Welcome to our second issue of Healthy Cash-flow, Healthy Mind, and for many of you, congratulations on completing a second week of working from home. How have you found it so far? With a few adjustments Innovation Software are embracing the experience. Regular team check-ins are a must, with fantastic technology such as GoToMeeting and Microsoft Teams, we are able to stay connected - remotely. We have been inspired by some of our clients' tips for working from home. One told us about the importance of a "Working From Home" mug, for use only during office hours. The psychology behind it is to make small differences between work and home within the house, to help ensure you maintain a healthy work / life balance. Another client told us about "Date Night on the Patio". She and her husband, who also works from home in a different room in the house, meet outside at 5pm for after-work drinks on the patio. We really liked the sound of that, so will definitely be giving it a try. Do you have any other working from home tips? Please share with Caroline via email: caroline.lyons@innovationsoftware.uk.com

Healthy cash-flow

On the subject of maintaining your collections whilst working from home, our tip this week comes from a specific need one of our clients has to put a pause on VAT chasing during this time. With CreditForce you can put a pause on any collections procedure. For the purpose of this example, we will demonstrate how you can put a 30 day pause on collecting any Invoice in GBP.

  1. Open the "Invoice" view and filter all invoices by currency

  2. Highlight all invoices to be collected in GBP

3. Select the "Workflow" button in the tab bar

4. The "Workflow Action" window will open and you will select the following:

  • Select "Invoice" under "Workflow Action Level Applicable To"

  • Select "Adjustment" under "Choose Workflow Action"

  • Select "Hold" under "Workflow Adjustment" and insert number of days to pause (in this case 30 days)

  • Un-check "Create Tasks" (you do not need this)

  • Enter a "Note" to record why you are placing the hold on the invoices - this is visible to all users so that they know the specific reason as to why the hold was applied

  • Select "Apply"

5. You will be asked if you wish to apply action without creating a task, please select "Yes"

6. Workflow Actions saved successfully, select "OK"

That's it, you're all set, any invoice to be collected in GBP will be taken out of the collections workflow for 30 days.

If you have any questions about pausing collections procedures, or any other query about how to make your working from home life easier, please do get in contact by calling us on 01634 812 300.
